What is the difference between a dumbwaiter and a food elevator?

The terms are used interchangeably. Both refer to a small lift designed to transport food, dishes, or light goods between floors without carrying passengers. Al Maamoura’s dumbwaiters and food elevators are manufactured to the same hygiene and safety standards, with stainless steel interiors built for daily food service.

For most restaurants and villas, a 100 to 200 kg capacity dumbwaiter is sufficient to handle plated food, full trays, and standard service trolleys. Larger hotels and banquet operations typically require 300 kg capacity. Al Maamoura’s engineers will recommend the right size based on a site survey of your kitchen and service workflow.
